No you don’t, But we recommend that you have one to avoid disappointment. You can just call in and talk to us about a consultation at any time. We can book you in for a consultation or you can just go ahead at the time if we have space. We also take appointments for late night on Thursdays.
As much or as little as you want. You can try any number of gowns and your consultant can help you with gowns suitable for your shape, or finding the gown that is closest to your dream if you have a design already. Once the gown is selected the consultation can move on to lingerie, shoes, jewellery, veil and so on to make your head to toe become real.
We recommend that a consultation is about an hour long. By that time you, the bride, might find the experience wearing a little thin. As we don’t charge a consultation fee for a subsequent visit you can then come back again to try more or retry favourites.
We only charge the first time, $50.00. You won’t pay again for any subsequent visits and it does get refunded if you buy your gown from us.
You can spread your gown over 5 payments or split it between ordering and arrival. Both of these options are interest free. Your consultant can discuss your personal needs when you are ready to order. We accept major credit cards, Q card and Farmers card.
With Astra Bridal it means that we use a sample of a gown to show you the styling and detailing of a gown. You try it on and if you decide to order then we import from the designer specifically for you. No one else has tried your dress on - it is your gown.
We ring and let you know, and get you to come and see it. If we are doing your fittings and alterations we will schedule your first appointment. We then prepare it for your wedding day and you pick it up whenever it is convenient.
Fitting and alterations are quoted for seperately and can be managed by Astra Bridal. Some customers prefer to have their alterations done by a family member or friend.
This is free if you purchased a full priced gown from us, but if not we do offer a steaming service where you can still enjoy the top service our brides get for their wedding day preparation. Get those last minute creases steamed away with the Astra Bridal gown steaming service. Drop your gown in to us and we will prepare your gown for your wedding day, we can even store it for you until you require it. Don't forget to also pick up a gown travel bag for gown protection.
Storage: Take the hassle out of storing your gown, hiding it from the groom and at the same time get those last minute alterations done. Give us a call on 0800 844 544 and book your gown/bridesmaids dresses in now. We even do storage boxes for after the wedding!

Yes, as we are the exclusive stockists we can order any gown. We don't necessarily have a sample (we would love to have them all!) but we can get the gown on your behalf. Often we have something similar so you can try it to know if it really is "the one".
We welcome walk ins, but especially on a Saturday you may have to wait. An appointment may be better if you would find this frustrating. For some of our gowns we only have one sample in the company - this allows us to carry a bigger range of gowns - 400 styles in New Zealand rather than 100 styles four times! So if there is a specific gown you want to try then please do ring first and we will let you know if we can have it for you. Obviously this is subject to existing appointments for a specific gown.
