With no defined waistline it fits the torso and then flares at the waist with the effect of elongating the body (even more if there is detail on the bodice). A princess A-line has defined panels. This is a gown for nearly every shape.
The full skirt gathered at the natural waistline will emphasise or create a waist while masking hips or thighs.
Traditionally an empire has no waist line and the skirt drops from below the bust line. It emphasises the bust and doesn't hug the lower body. Skirts can either be a-line or sheath. We have included anything with detailing below the bust in this category as well.
