A Truly Beautiful Experience at Astra Bridal Wellington! (5 Stars)

As soon as I walked into Astra Bridal Wellington’s beautiful salon, I knew I would find my dress. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and elegant. Their collection is absolutely stunning, with a huge range of designers and styles to choose from, including their own line, which allows for customisations and makes finding your dress a genuinely exciting process.

I especially appreciated the vast range of sample sizes available, which ensured I could try on gowns that actually fit as intended. My stylist Lisa was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and had an amazing eye for what would suit me, even suggesting the dress I eventually fell in love with.

The communication throughout the entire process was easy and professional. If you are a bride-to-be in New Zealand looking for a memorable, stress-free shopping experience, Astra Bridal in Wellington is the place to go.

As a plus-size bride, wedding dress shopping has always felt very intimidating, but at Astra Bridal I felt instantly at ease. My stylist, Kryslin, had dresses from my wishlist ready to go, and the layout of the store made it really easy to find gowns in my size and see the full range available for me to try on. I felt so comfortable with Kryslin, who was so supportive and accommodating with areas I usually feel self-conscious about (like my upper arms), and she made the process so easy and fun, from getting into the dress to laughing about the glitter trail I was leaving behind in one of the ones I tried on.

I left absolutely OVER THE MOON with my dress. I highly recommend all busty, plus-size girlies check out the curve styles at AB. The built in support structure has me feeling more secure than any bra I’ve ever owned, and it passed the shimmy test with flying colours.

I had the most phenomenal experience with Lara and the Astra Bridal team. After a previous appointment with another boutique, I felt deflated and like I hadn’t been guided or supported in choosing a dress. With Lara, it was the complete opposite experience. She is so knowledgeable, takes the time to understand what you really want, and is honest and caring throughout the whole experience.

Astra Bridal was the first bridal shop I visited on my journey to finding my wedding dress. Rochelle was so kind, understanding, and patient with me. She instantly made me feel comfortable and put my worries at ease! This set the bar VERY high for the following bridal shops I visited over the next 6 months. Out of all the bridal shops, Rochelle was the only one who reached out to me a few times to see how I was doing and invited me to try on more dresses each time. This meant a lot to me after my health diagnosis. I had been feeling even less confident and put off searching for a dress. Rochelle gave me the extra boost I needed (without being pushy), and last month I was able to say yes to the dress! Thank you so much for everything, Rochelle! You are a very special woman with a heart of gold.

I had the best time finding my dress at Astra Bridal! I was quite anxious starting out, but Rochelle made the whole experience so fun, and the communication before the appointment was really good. I had my 'wishlist,' and Rochelle was so sweet and helpful, pulling out dresses that she just knew I'd love. I ended up choosing one of hers, and I'm obsessed! I almost wish I hadn't found my perfect dress on the first try so I could do it all again—there were so many gorgeous dresses to try on!

This was by far the best bridal try-on experience I had. The hospitality and the ladies were amazing. I had Lara, and as a nervous first-time bride, she made me feel extremely comfortable and heard. I am so excited for my dress to arrive. Highly recommend this place! x

I said YES to the dress! This day was too special not to share! I visited this beautiful store on the 4th of October had the most amazing experience. From my Zoom chat with Cindy, who explained everything so clearly, to my fitting with Brooke, who made me feel comfortable, confident, and truly beautiful — everything was perfect.

Ilyese was wonderful in helping me find my dress. From the moment I walked in, she told me, “We’ll find you your dream dress,” and everything else felt like a weight off my shoulders. She listened to what I wanted, made sure she understood my budget, and brought in pieces that were fabulous. This was the first place I went and tried any dresses on (and where I ended up getting my dress from). From start to finish, I felt so looked after, informed and beautiful! I had Lisa helping me figure out what suited me and what I wanted and what an expert she is! I ended up choosing the one style I wasn’t sure about that she picked out for me!!! This was such a special and beautiful experience for me. Communication was amazing and the transparency throughout the process was really appreciated. Could not recommend enough!
