What are your hours?

We are open weekdays 10am until 5pm. Saturdays 9:30am until 4pm. We are closed Sundays & Mondays.  Our Wellington & Auckland salons are open on Thursday night.  For our other stores we can make an appoint for a consultation for you on a Thursday night by prior arrangement.   For more details please click on the store locations tab.

How does it all work?

At Astra bridal we are all about service and taking the stress out of selecting your wedding gown.  To try on gowns we offer a consultation appointment.  Our recently engaged page tells you all about the process of choosing a wedding gown.

Do I need an appointment?

We highly recommend that you have one to avoid disappointment.  You can just call in and talk to us about having a consultation at any time.  We can book you in for a consultation or you can just go ahead at the time if we have space.  We do a lot of background work to maximise your appointment with us so please get in touch via phone or email whenever you are ready to begin.

What does a consultation involve?

Our trained consultants work with you to find the gown that is both perfect for your body shape, your personality and your location.  Our expertise is something we are renowned for.  We will work with you in the fitting room to help you put the gowns on and also accessorise them for you to ensure you get the complete picture.

How much is a consultation?

A basic consultation is $50.  This is paid on  your first visit and then waived for any subsequent visits.  We also offer an exclusive consultation, in our Wellington and Auckland and North Shore stores, for those wanting just a little bit more.  This is an experience involving some bubbles, nibbles and having the place to yourself.  Ask your store for more information.

I have been asked to contact the store before my consultation - why?

Because we want you to get the most out of your time with us, and tailor your appointment specifically for you, we like to have a chat before you come in.  That starts us on the path of learning about you and your wedding plans.  Our feedback from this process is that it is an awesome start to the exceptional experience we aim to give.  We will only talk for as long as you want - we won't tie you up for hours........

If I decide on my gown, how can I pay?

You can spread your gown over 5 payments or split it between ordering and arrival. Both of these options are interest free. Your consultant can discuss your personal needs when you are ready to order. We accept major credit cards, Q card and Farmers card.

What about if my gown needs alterations?

We provide a list of highly recommend seamstresses that we have worked with for a number of years.  We find an external alterations service offers brides greater flexibility in fitting times and a better pricing structure than we can offer.

I like a gown off your designers websites - can you get it?

Yes, as we are the exclusive stockists we can order any gown. We don't necessarily have a sample (we would love to have them all!) but we can get the gown on your behalf. Often we have something similar so you can try it to know if it really is "the one".

I have seen a gown on your website, can I just walk in and try it on?

For a specific gown please contact us first.  We share samples between stores to allow us to offer you a much larger range.

How long does a gown take to be created?

Standard make time for a gown is four to six months dependng on the designer.  We recommend that you start looking at least six months before the wedding.

Eeek I am getting married in a month what are my options?

We do sell our gowns off the rack but also we choose to work with designers that carrry stock.  Trust us we will do our best to get the gown you want. If you have left your selection to the last minute we do recommend that you come with an open mind as to which gown you want.
