Summer Vintage Wedding at Woodlands
With a theme of 'Summer Vintage,' Lauren and Marcel's choice of gorgeously vintage venue; Woodlands Estate in Gordonton, couldn't have been more perfect! With those beautiful rich wooden floors and luxurious antique furnishings, Lauren's 'Octavia' gown, by Rebecca Ingram, absolutely shone.
"I wanted a gown that was simple and elegant and as our theme was ‘Summer Vintage,’ I wanted lots of lace... I loved the Octavia because it gave me the option of having a train for the ceremony and then a shorter and easier to manage dress for the reception. Truly the best of both worlds."
This really was a stunningly simple and elegant wedding, with every beautiful detail captured in the images by Amy Bell of Amy Bell Photography.
We hope you enjoy gushing over these stunning images as much as we did!
We LOVE a gown with a detachable train. With cap sleeves as well Lauren definitely got two looks out of her gown.
"I had the scalloped lace taken up and off the front of the dress and used as the sleeves."
The simple elegance of the Octavia silhouette was made romantic for the ceremony with the over-skirt/train. Then it was time to simplify for the reception.
My favourite memory from the day is a funny story now and certainly made the room laugh, but Marcel missed out the part of his vows where he says that he takes me to be his wife!
