Helen and Timothy promised to spend the rest of their lives together in front of their nearest and dearest at the beautiful Tatum. Their day was filled with so much joy and love, with photos capturing the happy couple enjoying every blissful moment of their special day.
Helen mesmerised in Aspen by Sottero & Midgley, a classic Mikado satin A-line gown featuring a stylish asymmetrically draped strapless bodice and a dramatic side split. The gown was beautifully finished with a row of elegant covered buttons running down the back to the end of the train. She completed her bridal look with our Harriet veil, an English net scattered pearl veil that added the perfect touch of elegance.

What was it that made this particular wedding dress catch your eye and fall in love?
It was a simple yet elegant gown that perfectly captured my style.
Tell us about your search for the dress and the experience at Astra Bridal.
Before I walked into Astra Bridal in Wellington, I didn’t have a single thing in mind. But then I met the most lovely, helpful lady who assisted me with my try-ons. She showed me so many options, and by the third dress, I just knew it was the one.
Tell us your story, how you both met, and the proposal.
We matched on Tinder just before lockdown, spending countless nights talking on the phone. When we finally met, we had KFC on the beach, simple but perfect.
Fast forward to the day Tim planned to propose. He told his sister to fake a “family beach photo” as a cover, but when the forecast showed rain, he secretly postponed it. The next day, his sister was running late and told us to meet them at the beach. As we waited, the photographer asked us to pose while she “tested her camera.” Then, I turned around—and there was Tim, down on one knee. I was so shocked I just kept saying, “Oh my God, oh my God!” It was the easiest yes of my life! After 4 years together, he finally did it.
What was your favourite part of the day?
My favourite part of our wedding day was walking down the aisle and seeing my soon to be husband; he had tears in his eyes, and it just melted my heart. Having everyone there, laughing, snapping photos, and celebrating with us made the whole day feel so real and unforgettable. It was pure magic from start to finish!
Tell us about your wedding day as a whole.
On our wedding day, I was filled with nerves, but the moment was perfect. The morning was a dream, with music playing, delicious food, and a relaxed atmosphere as we got ready. Our ceremony was intimate and heartfelt, with a no-photo policy that let everyone be truly present. The reception was incredible laughter, amazing food, and pure joy all around. We danced the night away, surrounded by so much love. A day we’ll cherish forever!
Finally, what is your biggest piece of advice for brides to be?
Stay present and enjoy every moment, it goes by so fast! Don’t stress over little things. What matters most is the love and joy shared. Take a few quiet moments with your partner to soak it all in. And most importantly, eat, drink, and dance your heart out!
