Ariadne mesmerised in Harlyn by Jenny Yoo, a luxurious satin fit and flare gown featuring a chic mock turtleneck halter and a sultry side split. The back of the gown was a true showstopper, with its sheer illusion detailing and an elegant row of covered buttons trailing down the train. She completed her bridal look with our tapered cut edge veil, an elegant accessory that perfectly complemented her gown.

What was it that made this particular wedding dress catch your eye and fall in love?
I chose my wedding gown because it was just the right one. It was light and simple, yet elegant. Perfect for a beach wedding. Also, you’ll just know when you find your dress. You’ll truly fall in love with it.
Tell us about your search for the dress and the experience at Astra Bridal.
I got the idea to search for my dress at Astra Bridal from my sister, as she also got her dress there. I didn’t go to any other bridal stores because I quickly found the perfect dress for me with the help of my stylist, Courtney. She knew my style right away after I shared my ideas, so the selections she showed me were exactly what I was looking for. It was just a matter of finding the perfect one among the options. I had a truly wonderful experience searching for my dress at Astra Bridal. Everyone was very accommodating and friendly, and they made me feel confident and beautiful.
Tell us your story, how you both met, and the proposal.
Alex and I met through a mutual friend. My school friend was his workmate at a restaurant, and we all decided to have dinner together with some of my other friends and his other workmates. After that, Alex and I started talking more and going on dates, especially after another dinner meet up arranged by our mutual friend.
Alex proposed in Nafplio, Greece, when we travelled to the UK in July 2023 to visit his family and friends. He took me to the Fortress of Palamidi. I thought we were just going for a hike up the fortress, so I was taking my time. He, on the other hand, was in a rush. Then he led me to a private spot at the top of the fortress and proposed.
What was your favourite part of the day?
The entire wedding day was my favourite part. I cannot choose any one moment, because from our getting ready time, the photoshoots, the ceremony itself, until the reception, everything was smooth flowing and full of memories to keep.
Tell us about your wedding day as a whole.
We had a beach wedding and thankfully, the entire wedding day we had lovely sunny weather. We started early around 8 am, especially for the ladies as we needed time for our hair and makeup, and we had photoshoots in the middle of getting ready. Photoshoot for when we were wearing robes, then for when we were wearing our gowns. Everything lasted until the wedding ceremony time, which was at 4:30 in the afternoon. The ceremony was at the elevated part of the beachfront, and the reception was at the beachfront itself. The ceremony was just a short one as we only had a pastor to officiate, and we only had to say our vows, exchange rings, and kiss. The reception was a blast, having games, wedding cake cutting, lechon cutting, dinner buffet, speeches, and dancing time. The venue was decorated nicely and everything from our wedding day was perfect.
Finally, what is your biggest piece of advice for brides to be?
For brides to be, don’t overstress yourself with small things. Just enjoy the process and the moment from your wedding planning, dress search, and the wedding day itself. Remember that there is no perfect wedding and that you are having this important celebration in your life with your partner, family, and friends.
