What was it that made this particular wedding dress catch your eye and fall in love?
The gown was incredibly flattering and so different from anything else I had seen. From the moment I put it on, I knew it was the one; I absolutely had to have it.
Tell us about your search for the dress and the experience at Astra Bridal.
I was lucky enough to be selected for a wedding giveaway, which meant I needed to find a dress quite urgently. Astra Bridal is a local boutique with stunning gowns that immediately caught my eye. I visited three times in one week and was just about to purchase a different dress when a new gown arrived that very morning. I spotted it on the rack, tried it on, and completely changed my mind. I ended up choosing a dress I never expected to fall in love with.
Tell us your story, how you both met, and the proposal.
Caleb and I first crossed paths as teenagers back in 2015 while attending the same gym. Both incredibly shy, we rarely spoke despite seeing each other often. Four years later, in 2019, we entered a CrossFit competition together. Even then, we were still very shy kids until Caleb’s best man gave him a little push, which grew into something truly special. Caleb proposed during a family trip to Canada at the breathtaking Lake Louise, completely surprising me with the most unforgettable moment.
What was your favourite part of the day?
Seeing everything come together and finally marrying my best friend. The ceremony was emotional, overwhelming, and incredibly beautiful, a moment I will treasure forever.
Tell us about your wedding day as a whole.
The day was absolutely perfect. Rain was forecast all week, but instead we were blessed with beautiful weather; if anything, it was a little too hot! Getting ready with my amazing bridesmaids was so special, especially knowing they had all been there at Astra Bridal helping me choose my dress.
The ceremony was the most beautiful moment of the day. My dress, sleeves, and veil matched perfectly, and seeing it all come to life during our first dance was unforgettable.
Finally, what is your biggest piece of advice for brides to be?
Get as much done as possible before so you can truly relax and enjoy the day. Don’t get caught up in the little details—nothing will go exactly to plan, and that’s okay. Sometimes the unexpected moments turn out to be even better than planned.
