What was it that made this particular wedding dress catch your eye and fall in love?
I knew I wanted lacy, fairy vibes with a long train, and my dress was exactly that! I wasn’t expecting to like sparkle so much, but I fell in love with it when seeing the dresses in person. I loved the tan lining, which blended into my skin tone so well. The lace details going all the way to the train are so stunning.
Tell us about your search for the dress and the experience at Astra Bridal.
Astra Bridal North Shore was the only place I went to, and my dream dress was the third one I tried on. I brought along three of my bridesmaids, my mum, and my mother-in-law. It was such a special day! We had a platter with nibbles and champagne; it was so much fun! My stylist was so lovely and helpful, and she made me feel so comfortable.
Tell us your story, how you both met, and the proposal.
Craig and I are a Tinder success story! We met just before the first NZ lockdown in 2020, so the first couple of months were spent on many FaceTime calls. He proposed during a holiday in Fiji in October 2022 and arranged a beautiful setup with an arch, rose petals, and candles. Our wedding was on 5th February 2025.
What was your favourite part of the day?
I absolutely loved having all of our loved ones in the same room. It was amazing to see everything come together after two years of hard work, planning, and saving! It was such a special day, getting to marry my best friend at the most beautiful venue.
Tell us about your wedding day as a whole.
Our wedding day was just perfect! We had the best sunny weather. I had such a chill morning getting ready with all my girls in an Airbnb in Kawakawa Bay, with Taylor Swift blaring all morning! It was so magical walking down the aisle with my parents and seeing Craig for the first time. It was hard not to bawl, haha. Our cocktail hour was so fun, with yummy canapés. We then took bridal party photos around the venue, where many laughs were had. Our reception was amazing, with the best food and the sweetest speeches. After our first dance, we danced the night away! It was the most love filled day, and I wish I could relive it over and over.
Finally, what is your biggest piece of advice for brides to be?
It is so easy to get caught up in all the small details while planning, but at the end of the day, the things you will remember are all the love and happiness you felt on the day, spending it with your loved ones! So, try not to sweat the small stuff, and take in every moment as it goes by—it goes by SO fast!
