Astra Bridal offers a calm, personalised bridal experience, with expert guidance from experienced stylists, designed to help brides feel confident, supported, and at ease while finding their wedding dress.
Astra North Shore first opened in 2005 in Takapuna, and we moved to our current location in Albany in 2018. As well as a bigger store and more gowns, we also have parking right outside; and as an added bonus our fantastic sister store The Bridal Outlet is right next door. So make sure you leave enough time to have a look in both.
The salon is a gorgeous airy space with big windows and lots of light.
We aren't in a retail precinct so it is a really quiet and relaxing experience.

I had the most wonderful experience at Astra Bridal. The whole team is absolutely lovely and made me feel so comfortable from the moment I walked in. I was looked after by Lara, who was amazing — so kind, supportive, and genuinely cared about helping me find the perfect dress. They have such a fantastic selection of gowns, and they had no problem transferring a dress from another store for me to try after I had no luck with my first appointment… which actually ended up being the one! Highly recommend!

I had the most amazing experience with the team at Astra Bridal North Shore. I was working with quite a tight timeframe and had a very clear vision of what I wanted, and from the moment I walked in, the team made the whole process feel effortless and enjoyable.
The stylist who assisted me was absolutely incredible. She really took the time to listen and understand my ideas while also offering thoughtful suggestions I hadn’t considered. Together, we explored what worked, what didn’t, and why, which made me feel confident in every step of the decision.
Most importantly, she created such a warm and supportive environment that I felt completely comfortable and at ease the entire time. I’m so grateful for the care, professionalism, and genuine excitement the team showed. They turned what could have been a stressful experience into such a special and memorable one.

I can’t speak highly enough of Astra Bridal Northshore, and especially Sarah, the manager. Although I didn’t end up purchasing my dress from Astra (I’m based across the ditch in Australia), Sarah still went completely above and beyond to help me find my dream dress.
She spent time offering advice, sharing options, and even recommending other boutiques and competitors that might have styles closer to what I was looking for. She absolutely didn’t have to show the level of kindness, care, and support that she did, particularly knowing there was no direct benefit or compensation in it for her, but she chose to anyway. That speaks volumes about her character and the values behind Astra Bridal.
If you’re looking for a bridal experience where you feel genuinely supported, listened to, and cared for (rather than just another sale), I would recommend Sarah and Astra Bridal Northshore in a heartbeat.

We cater for all size ranges with our samples varying from a size 6 to a size 26. We do our best to ensure every bride gets to have a special bridal experience at Astra Bridal Northshore.
Our staff are trained to give advice on gown fit, colour, fabric, design to suit your body shape and the style of wedding.
They are also the most passionate bridal team you will find in the Northshore. They are well known for their welcoming atmosphere and for not judging any bride on budget and shape.

You're welcome to explore as many gowns as you like. Your stylist will expertly guide and refine the selection throughout your appointment, ensuring the experience feels supportive, calm, and never overwhelming.
How far in advance should I start my wedding dress journey?
We recommend starting 6-9 months before your wedding, although we can absolutely accommodate shorter timelines.
