On a dreamy and cloudy Summer day, Laura and Luke tied the knot at the beautiful Tironui in front of their loved ones. Their day was filled with happiness, joy and laughter!
Tironui's luscious greenery and gardens perfectly complimented Laura's dress. She wore Greenley by Maggie Sottero, a charming floral fit and flare with a delicate lace bodice featuring soft shimmering sequins. She finished her look with our 1-901-CT-P scattered pearl veil, adding a touch dreamy elegance.

What was it that made this particular wedding dress catch your eye and fall in love?
I
wanted a dress that was fitting, had floral lace, was comfortable to wear and
elegant. Greenley did that for me. I loved the detailed train of the dress that
added the extra drama and how light weight it was - perfect for a summer
wedding.
Tell us about your search for the dress and the experience at Astra Bridal.
I
had done an extensive online search for my wedding dress, booking in for a try
on session with Dee and her team at Astra Bridal in Hamilton. Dee had a fair
idea of the dress I was looking for and had a few different options ready and
waiting for me when I arrived. I was so nervous about the whole process,
worrying if dresses would fit, what they would look like on my body, what if I
couldn't find something I loved? But Dee worked with me and made the whole
process a breeze. I fell in love with Greenley by Maggie Sottero instantly. Dee
was fantastic to deal with, and because I was travelling to see her from
Rotorua, went out of her way to make the process as simple as possible - making
minor sewing adjustments to the dress and even hand delivering it to the
seamstress herself! I couldn't recommend her and her team more.
Tell us your story, how you both met, and the proposal.
Luke
and I met after a cheeky Tinder swipe. Having mutual friends made the
stranger danger less so, and we have been inseparable ever since. Luke
proposed at Lake Hayes in Queenstown at sunset with our little boy in tow,
a day we will never forget. He had carried the ring in his pocket for 3 days,
waiting for the perfect moment!
What was your favourite part of the day?
The
announcement of finally being "Husband and Wife". We feel like we had
waited for those words for a long, long time and hearing them made all the lead
up to the day, worth it.
Tell us about your wedding day as a whole.
The day was perfect. It poured with rain right up until the morning of our wedding day (super stressful for an outdoor wedding!) but the sun shone brightly, like someone sprinkling magic over us. I spent the morning getting ready with hair and makeup with my gorgeous bridesmaids and my mum. Dad and my son joined us later in the day. Mum was the only person who had seen my dress on, and so I was able to have a first look with Dad and the girls - that was special. I arrived 45 minutes late after forgetting the rings (oops!)
The ceremony was outside in the garden, overlooking Lake Rotorua, where 90 of our friends and family watched us tie the knot. Celebrating with bubbles, we ventured into the farmland, getting comfortable with a big bull who wanted in on the photography. A buffet dinner followed, along with the cake cutting and speeches. A quick dress change to kick off the first dance, we spent the rest of the night booging to the tunes of our band. The day went off without a hitch and we feel so lucky to have celebrated our day with all of our special people.
Finally, what is your biggest piece of advice for brides to be?
Do
not forget the rings!!! And enjoy the process. You can so easily get lost in
the stress and build up to the day but what will be will be, so enjoy the
process. It goes by so quickly, be present and enjoy the moment. Being a wife
is the best!
